FedEx Cup Odds & Betting Lines 2025: Scheffler Surges to Top of Rankings

Scottie Scheffler sits atop the FedEx Cup standings at the mid-point of the golf season, and he remains the heavy betting favorite to win the FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club in August.

While starting strokes won't be used at East Lake Golf Club for the Tour Championship in late August, the FedEx Cup odds continue to list Scottie Scheffler as the betting favorite with his +225 odds representing an implied win probability of 30.77% he defends his title.

The winner of the FedEx Cup will be the outright winner of the 2025 Tour Championship, with the tournament running as a 72-hole stroke-play event. The season-ending tournament is played from Aug. 21-24 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga. The winner earns $25 million of the total $100 million bonus pool for the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Scheffler is the defending winner of the FedEx Cup, but Rory McIlroy is a three-time champion at East Lake and is second to Scheffler on the oddsboard with +650 odds via Caesars.

The FedEx Cup standings update weekly, but we've seen Scheffler retain his position as the betting favorite in this market.

Scheffler's FedEx Cup odds rose slightly following the announcement that starting strokes would be removed from the Tour Championship format. He's leading the FedEx Cup standings by more than 1,000 points and is sure to be in the 30-man field at East Lake.

Yet with this tournament being treated as any other stroke-play event, it's much tougher to justify backing Scheffler at these short odds. He entered the Tour Championship No. 1 in the standings and as the betting favorite each of the past three years, but he came away with only one victory.

Scheffler remains the consensus betting favorite by the British Open odds, but the results of the year's final major no longer factor into the Tour Championship.
