The hardest part about making my best home run predictions today was deciding which bat on the Athletics to back tonight in their matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Both Kurtz and Brent Rooker have a prime opportunity to go yard against Zac Gallen, who's allowed the second-most home runs in MLB this season (23).

The 29-year-old righty has given up 17 dingers in his last 13 outings, and Kurtz could add to that total tonight. Gallen leans heavily on his four-seamer (46.5% of the time), and that's a pitch the Athletics' DH would love to see.

Kurtz has a .721 SLG and 61.9% hard hit rate this season against four-seamers - 13 of his 23 home runs have come against fastballs. And Kurtz has absolutely crushed right-handed pitchers this year, slashing .342/.433/.749 against them with 19 homers.
