I really expected Schwarber to tee off on Padres knuckleballer Matt Waldron last night. Instead, he finished the game 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts.

Well, let's hope Schwarber continues to not put the ball in play tonight, but only because his hit(s) are home runs. The slugger has endured a bit of a cold spell recently but he's still hitting the ball plenty hard this season, and he faces a pitcher tonight who's had a bad habit of giving up long balls throughout his career.

Nick Pivetta has been great this season, and maybe he's found a way to limit homers more than he did in the past. However, we're talking about a pitcher who's allowed 1.49 HR/9 for his career, and it's not as though he's giving up fewer fly balls or reducing hard contact this season. He's just been, well, lucky.

The Phillies are good enough to deal Pivetta some regression in the home run department, and I'm betting on Schwarber to lead the charge on Dinger Tuesday.
