Immediately after returning from the paternity list, Ohtani managed average exit velocities of 80.3, 77.1, 78.2, and 88.3, and we all wondered why he wasn't blessed with the mythical dad strength. Well, perhaps it was just a bit delayed, because in the nine games since then, Ohtani has managed an average exit velocity under 100 mph just once, and he hit a triple and scored three runs in that contest.

Ohtani is coming off hitting an absolute missile last night in Miami, and I'm betting on him to do so again tonight.

He has the second-highest home run projection of any active player today - only Raleigh is above him - and gets a tasty matchup against Cal Quantrill, who's genuinely terrible.

Look for Ohtani to continue to terrorize the 15 Marlins fans in attendance after establishing the 50-50 club in this stadium last year.

If it wasn't for Aaron Judge, Raleigh might actually be getting some MLB MVP odds buzz. As it is, I think he represents a very interesting long-shot option at +12500.

One season after drilling a career-high 34 home runs last year, Raleigh is hitting the ball harder this year, barreling it up more, striking out less and walking more, and he's tied for third for baserunners caught stealing.

If this was in 2024, I wouldn't be so excited to back a hitter playing on the road against the Athletics. However, their temporary stadium this year, Sutter Health Park, ranks fifth in baseball in terms of how home run friendly it is. That's likely why "Big Dumper" has the second-best home run projection of any player today after going three games since his last one.
