Welcome to our best NRFI bets today for Wednesday, June 25. We're coming off a 1-1 night after Tarik Skubal and Luis Severino were torched for two runs apiece in the first frame - can we ban weather delays?

Now we're sitting at 34-23 with 6.44 extra units in our pocket this campaign. Let's look to continue our trek to the moon on this fine Wednesday. It's time to get into our first-inning picks and predictions using odds from our best sports betting sites.

Blue Jays vs. Guardians - 6:40 p.m. ET

Max Scherzer (3.38 ERA) vs. Gavin Williams (4.48 ERA)
NRFI record: Blue Jays (36-42) vs. Guardians (48-29)

It's Scherzer's return to the mound today, and you thought we weren't going to include him in our best NRFI bets today? Well, think again - unc still got it.

While most of his numbers against the Guardians are against 39-year-old Carlos Santana (4-for-52), Scherzer has still done a great job against anyone not named Steven Kwan. The projected two-three hitters in Lane Thomas and Jose Ramirez are a combined 1-for-14 in their career against the old-timer - that'll play for us.

On the other side it's Williams, who's done a pretty good job against these Blue Jays, striking them out at a 42% rate across 26 plate appearances against him. We're rollin' the dice a bit here, as Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have done a good job of making contact against him, albeit in a very small sample size, but Williams hasn't allowed a run in the first frame across his last four starts. We'll see five today.

Pirates vs. Brewers - 2:10 p.m. ET

Paul Skenes (1.85 ERA) vs. Jacob Misiorowski (1.64 ERA)
NRFI record: Pirates (47-34) vs. Brewers (43-37)

Can I interest you in a Paul Skenes bump day, anyone? It's our favorite day of the week, and it's a perfect spot for us to get one through the goalposts to kick off our best NRFI bets today. It's an early first pitch, too, so make sure you're getting your wagers in on time.

Skenes has absolutely dominated the Brewers over the course of his young career, limiting them to a .178 xBA while striking the lineup out at a near 40% (!) clip. Something about those numbers makes me feel nice and cozy when it comes to a clean three-up, three-down inning. And it's why we're getting this play at -165 betting odds. This NRFI is -180 at FanDuel, so playing it at DraftKings is the way to go.

Misiorowski is a slightly different story, however. He's only logged 11 major-league innings, but damn, have they been good. He cut down the Cardinals across five shutout innings before recording a quality start against the Twins - not allowing a run in the first frame across both outings. We like that.
