Megill leads all Mets starting pitchers with 45 strikeouts and an 11.3 K/9 rate. He has also been a workhorse, averaging the second-most pitches per start (90.1).

While Megill’s 0.5 WAR is tied for the lowest of any member of the rotation, he should deliver a solid outing in front of the Citi Field faithful. Megill has not allowed an earned run in 14 2/3 home innings this year, while pitching to a .167 OBA.

Chicago counters with a bullpen game, with Brad Keller getting the start. However, the organization’s No. 2 prospect, Cade Horton, is likely to see a bulk of the work at some point. Horton posted a 1.24 ERA and 33 strikeouts over 29 innings at Triple-A this year.
