In a low-scoring affair, the Los Angeles Dodgers took the first contest from this two-game Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs. Will the bats wake up on Wednesday morning when Game 2 gets underway at 6:10 a.m. ET (FS1) from the Tokyo Dome in Japan, or will it be another pitcher's duel?

As we outlined in our Dodgers vs. Cubs prediction for Game 2, this pitching matchup doesn't hit quite the same as Tuesday morning's, and I think the offenses could rebound from their sluggish performance.

As you'd expect, one of the most popular bets for Game 1 of the Tokyo Series was an Ohtani home run. He didn't go deep, but that hasn't stopped bettors from backing him once again, as the most bet prop at BetMGM (based on tickets, not handle) is once again that Ohtani will hit a homer.

Based on the projections, Roki Sasaki's strikeout Over is actually a much higher EV play than this one, but I'm also predicting that the rookie pitcher struggles in his MLB debut. Therefore, I'm backing Justin Steele to go Over his strikeout total instead.

Steele is projected to rack up 5.21 punchouts on Wednesday morning, and of the four starters in this series, he's the one who I think will have the most freedom to go deeper into a ballgame. Fellow Cubs starter Shota Imanaga was pulled after only 69 pitches in Game 1, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto wasn't pushed much further by the Dodgers, getting the hook on 72 pitches.

If Steele is allowed to pitch into the sixth of this one, he should be able to rack up at least five Ks with ease.
