⚾️ Mets ML βββββ

On the surface, it makes sense that our best sports betting sites would favor the mighty Dodgers. But that doesn't exactly hold up under further scrutiny.

While both teams have been sterling through the first 60 games, the Mets (38-22) own the NL's best record over the Dodgers (36-24) after winning Monday's 4-3 thriller in extra innings to extend a four-game win streak. That also bumped New York's record to 3-1 in the season series entering tonight's rematch.

The Dodgers' prowess at the plate is unmatched this year, but the Mets have boasted a top-five lineup by advanced metrics while outpacing the Dodgers in hard-hit rate (45.8%) and zone contact rate (83.6%). That bodes well for their chances to get to Clayton Kershaw in his fourth start of the year.

The 37-year-old lefty was strong in his last start against the Guardians (5 IP, 6 H, 1 ER) but has struck out just six batters while allowing six walks in 11 frames thus far. He'll have his work cut out against New York's bats, which rank in the top 10 in OPS (.738) and wRC+ (111) against southpaws this season.

Meanwhile, Tylor Megill takes the bump amid a breakout campaign for the Mets righty, who's enjoying a career-best 3.52 ERA and 3.10 FIP while punching out 12.1 batters per nine innings. He also ranks eighth in strikeout rate (30.4%) and CSW (30.1%) among pitchers with 50 innings, and he checks in the top 25 in zone contact rate (84.1%).

All that is to say: Megill has been tough to hit this year, and I suspect the Dodgers will struggle to string together productive at-bats against the 6-foot-7 flamethrower before facing one of the best bullpens in baseball. It all adds up to one of my favorite plus-money plays of the week.

πŸ”₯ Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 total bases ββββ

I was tempted to highlight Megill Over 5.5 strikeouts, which he's cleared in six of his last seven starts, but it's hard for me to ignore Lindor's sizzling run at the plate.

The Mets' star slugger finished 2-for-5 with a home run and the game-securing RBI in Monday's dramatic finish, extending his multi-base streak to four games. That's part of a larger eight-game run in which he's slashed .353/.378/.735 with a 1.114 OPS and at least one hit in seven of those eight games.

Lindor has flashed his raw power of late with four home runs in his last four games, but he only needs two hits - or one extra-base knock - to cash this prop bet, which is dealing as short as -145 via FanDuel. That makes this price even juicier for Lindor to stay hot tonight in L.A.

πŸ‘€ Bonus bet: Shohei Ohtani to hit a home run βββ

We backed Ohtani to go yard as part of our best home run props on Monday, and he delivered in a big way with a 424-foot moonshot that cleared the bullpen at Dodger Stadium - his 23rd home run through 58 appearances this year.

Ohtani was dealing no better than +160 to hit a home run before that contest, and he's priced between +170 and +190 across nearly all of our best sports betting apps ahead of an admittedly tougher matchup opposite Megill.

Yet, for some inexplicable reason, the fine folks at bet365 are hanging +220 odds for Ohtani to belt one deep tonight - implying a mere 31.25% chance that he clears the fence for the seventh time in nine games. Even if you like the Mets to win this game, it's hard to ignore the value at this price.
