The San Diego Padres (45-39) look to even their three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies (50-35) after being blanked by Zack Wheeler and Co. in the series opener. Padres righty Nick Pivetta has struggled with current Phillies hitters, allowing a combined .275/.398/.579 slash line over 69 at-bats. His road ERA (4.50) is also nearly two runs higher on the road than at home (2.55).

Pivetta’s ERA has also gotten worse each month, culminating in a 4.71 ERA in five June starts. I expect Philadelphia to do much of the scoring in this matchup, but it shouldn’t take much offense from the Padres to cash the Over. San Diego ranks 23rd or worse in OPS, wRC+, and wOBA against southpaws since May 1, but Cristopher Sanchez is due for some regression after a career month where he allowed seven earned runs in five starts.

The Under has cashed in seven of Philadelphia’s last eight games, including hitting by 4.5 runs in Monday's 4-0 victory in a game with an O/U of 8.5. But that game could have played out much differently if Jackson Merrill didn't rob Max Kepler of a three-run home run early.

We are bucking the Under trend with a great line at DraftKings, as it is one of the only MLB betting sites offering a total of 8 runs instead of 8.5.
