A city that was melting at every turn is looking up from its collective puddle at the Canada Day in Toronto temperature odds and hoping the annual red-and-white laden festivities can bring some temperature relief.

FanDuel Ontario often offers weather odds as part of its novelty bets section, including the Victoria Day in Toronto temperature odds. That's the unofficial start of summer, and it often teases with a nice though underwhelming temperature.

But Toronto swung the opposite way while dealing with extreme heat. The betting odds suggest a slight break from that heat wave as we look at what the temperature will be in Toronto on Canada Day (Tuesday, July 1).

☀️ Expected temperature in Toronto on Canada Day

It was sweltering in Toronto for a few days as the city endured an early-summer record-setting heat wave. The temperature at Pearson Airport on Monday reached a sweaty 36 degrees. It was the first time since 2016 that the airport recorded the mercury at such a scorching state.

In what was only the third official day of summer, Toronto tallied the hottest temperature on June 23 since 1983, according to CityNews.

But there's still some time to go until we all don our finest Canadian flag apparel. While it's expected to be toasty on Canada Day, the sauna-like temperatures are projected to subside somewhat, with The Weather Network's forecast calling for a high of 28.

It's of course no accident that FanDuel, one of the best Ontario sports betting sites, is listing 28 degrees as the favorite at +125 betting odds (implying a 44.44% probability), with 29 degrees second at +300 (25%). The price for 28 degrees has fallen significantly after first being listed at +210.

A high in the upper 20s would be more in line with recent Canada Day weather. Last year's maple leaf-infused party took place at a warm yet more comfortable 24 degrees. But it's been 28 or 29 degrees in Toronto on Canada Day in three of the past five years.
