🆚 Who will win Roughriders vs. Tiger-Cats?

Hamilton's offense wasn't the problem last season and wasn't its main issue during its 38-26 Week 1 loss to the Calgary Stampeders. The Tiger-Cats' defense doesn't appear to be fixed this year after giving up the most points per game (30.9) and the second-most yards per game last season (383.7).

Saskatchewan is fully equipped to expose this defense behind the play of Harris, and with the running back duo of A.J. Ouellette and Ka'Deem Carey. The Roughriders win on the road, 30-24.

✅ Moneyline pick: Roughriders will win (-152 via FanDuel)

Hamilton's defense is shaping up to be one of the worst in the league yet again, which makes it a prime team to bet the Over on for the second straight season. Dating back to last year, the Tiger-Cats are 14-5 betting the Over and have hit it in nine of their last 11 games. Part of that is the atrocious defense, but the other part is Mitchell.

The two-time CFL Most Outstanding Player odds winner helped Hamilton stay afloat with a non-existent defense by leading the best offense in yards per game (407.8) behind his league-leading 5,451 passing yards and 32 touchdown passes. The Riders gave up 413 passing yards to Dru Brown last week, so Mitchell should be able to score with his wide receiver corps of Shemar Bridges, Tim White, and Kenny Lawler.

Saskatchewan is in even better shape to make the scoreboard sing in Steeltown with Harris having a pair of All-Star running backs behind him to complement a pass catching group led by Emilus and KeeSean Johnson. The Riders have hit the Over in 11 of their last 19, and they should have every opportunity to again if Emilus shows out like he did last week.

One of the top wide receivers in the CFL last season, Emilus finished sixth in receiving yards (1,073) and was unstoppable in Week 1 against the Ottawa Redblacks this season. He caught all eight of his targets for 133 yards and a score, and with Kian Schaffer-Baker out, Saskatchewan will need him to produce at that level again.

The Louisiana Tech product has gone Over 69.5 receiving yards in three straight games, and a defense that gave up the most passing yards in the league last year (321 per game) isn't going to stop him.
