With a few hours left until the race, we're offering our Spanish Grand Prix odds and predictions with McLaren leading the odds for today's race (9 a.m. ET, ESPN).

Earlier in the week, our Spanish Grand Prix odds and AI pick featured a selection of Max Verstappen to win the Spanish Grand Prix after a conversation with ChatGPT. While we believe Verstappen will be strong and offers the best value, one of his chief rivals is the safer pick to win today's race.

Here are my best Spanish Grand Prix predictions for Sunday's race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Picks based on odds from our best F1 betting sites

πŸ† Pick to win Spanish Grand Prix: Lando Norris ⭐⭐⭐

πŸ‘‰ Best odds: +140 via Caesars | Implied probability: 41.67%

It would be great to pick a non-McLaren car with confidence. But that's not the F1 world we live in here eight races into the season.

McLaren have been leading the grid almost weekly, with Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri finishing on the podium together six times already. That includes two wins from Norris, the most recent of which came at Monaco.

The narrow streets of Monte Carlo are a different beast entirely, with overtaking nearly impossible no matter how much F1 tinkers with the race setup. But Norris' first triumph of the season came in Australia, a circuit that's more wide open, and where both aggressive and defensive driving is required in equal balance, much like the Spanish Grand Prix.

Norris is well-equipped to mirror that effort now, and we saw during the first practice session how fast he could be on Sunday. That's when Norris set the pace, and in the second session, he wasn't far behind his teammate Piastri while sitting in fourth.

A $10 bet on Norris through these +140 odds at Caesars would lead to a $24 profit.

πŸ’Ž Best value bet to win Spanish Grand Prix: Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐

πŸ‘‰ Best odds: +450 via bet365 | Implied probability: 18.18%

Verstappen is the three-time defending champion at the Spanish Grand Prix, and his mastering of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya can't be cast aside, despite the juggernaut ways of McLaren.

Much has changed since last year's race, but Verstappen's steamrolling resonates nonetheless after he pulled away from nearly the entire field. Only Norris was remotely close in second while finishing 2.219 seconds behind, and there was then a cavernous gap to Lewis Hamilton in third, who ended up 17.790 seconds back.

There have been some inconsistencies with Verstappen and Red Bull this season. However, he has still secured four podium finishes and two wins, despite those issues and the strength of McLaren. Verstappen has also finished in the top three during both practice sessions so far for the Spanish Grand Prix.

A $10 wager at these +450 odds from bet365 would result in a $45 profit if it hits.

🎯 Best long shot to win Spanish Grand Prix: George Russell ⭐⭐⭐

πŸ‘‰ Best odds: +2500 via bet365 | Implied probability: 3.85%

It's difficult to back anyone who doesn't drive for McLaren right now. And it's even harder if the driver you're rolling with isn't named Verstappen.

But the one relative long shot with a chance seems to be Russell. He was part of the Monaco shenanigans from Mercedes that led to a disastrous result, including Russell finishing 11th. However, he still sits a respectable fourth in the drivers' standings entering this week, a perch reached while finishing on the podium four times, often while challenging Norris and Piastri.

He could be well-positioned to do that again, and Russell certainly seems to have a strong car heading into race weekend in Spain. The lead Mercedes driver finished second during the second practice session, only 0.286 seconds behind Norris.

Putting down $10 on Russell would end in a $250 profit if he wins.
