The Spartans are in for a rude awakening during their first and very likely only game of this year’s NCAA Tournament. The Trojans boast one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country while averaging over 81 points per game, and their defense has been incredible all season, especially against inferior competition.
The Spartans held four nonconference opponents to 40 points or fewer. They scored at least 88 points in each of those games. With the nation’s second-best scorer Watkins leading the way, this game could get out of control in the first quarter.
Additionally, while the Trojans allowed 70-plus points in all three of their Big Ten tournament games, they gave up more than 70 just once across their last seven regular-season contests. If they enjoyed that type of success against the Big Ten, what will USC do against the Spartans?

The guard is only the third-leading rebounder on her team, so she'll be competing with her teammates to secure boards. Additionally, she may see limited minutes in a blowout victory. Yet despite all of that, this prop is still the best player prop available for Watkins in this game.

With limited minutes a serious concern, it may seem crazy to take an alternate line for Watkins. However, the price for her to score more than 25.5 points is -125. That’s expensive for Watkins to score more than her season average in limited minutes.
This is a great matchup, and Watkins is averaging 24.6 points per game. Taking her to post 30 points provides much more value than the price for 26, so I’ll take a bit of a risk with the extra points.
