NFL Futures Predictions 2025: Best Bets for This Year's Rushing Yards Leader

The start of the NFL season is on its way, and that means it's time to dive into some futures betting - starting with our best bets for the 2025 rushing yards leader. While Saquon Barkley (+300 betting odds) tops my list of favorite NFL stat leader predictions this year, he's not the only player I'm eyeing.

🦅 Saquon Barkley

Best odds: +300 via BetRivers ($10 returns $30 profit)

I know, I know - we aren't lighting the world on fire with our best bet for the 2025 rushing yards leader while taking Saquon. But if you watched how last season panned out, can you really blame me? The Eagles are topping the Super Bowl odds for a reason. 

Aside from putting up arguably the best season for a running back since the pigskin was invented, Barkley will run behind the NFL's top offensive line yet again and is in a prime position to repeat as the league's leader in rushing yards. Philly brings back four starters to the offensive line, which allowed just 10 sacks and 76 pressures, and the unit will remain the gold standard of the NFL while Barkley runs wild once again.

Saquon racked up 2,025 rushing yards during the regular season in 2024 - the ninth-highest total in NFL history - while averaging 5.8 yards per carry, good for eighth-best all time. His 2,283 scrimmage yards were the 13th-most in a single season.

And when we combine regular season and playoff performances, his 2,504 rushing yards and 2,857 total scrimmage yards set new all-time single-season records. Not bad, huh? I'm taking him to repeat in 2025.

🐎 Jonathan Taylor

Best odds: +1300 via FanDuel ($10 bet returns $130)

Jonathan Taylor at +1300 offers outstanding value, and the kind that’s too hard to ignore. With no serious competition in the Colts’ backfield, he’s in line for a full workload, making him one of my top NFL futures bets.

If Indianapolis plans to succeed with Anthony Richardson (or Daniel Jones) under center, they'll need to rely heavily on the run game, and Taylor is built to be a workhorse.

He still finished fourth in rushing with 1,431 yards despite missing time last season. Don’t forget, the last time Taylor played a full season (2021), he led the league with over 1,800 rushing yards. If he stays healthy, a +1300 ticket on Taylor could look like a steal coming into the final weeks of the season.

You could do worse when laying out your best bets for the 2025 rushing yards leader.

🧀 Josh Jacobs

Best odds: +1900 ($10 bet returns $190 profit)

The line is already moving on this guy, as we were seeing +2200 value just a few weeks ago. While it's now down to +1900, I'm still loving the betting odds on Mr. Jacobs in Green Bay, and I'll play it down to +1700.

A few questions you need to ask yourself before laying down your hard-earned cash on this NFL futures bet: Who's going to take carries away from him? And what's his injury history like?

Let's answer those. Will *squints* MarShawn Lloyd be anything more than a change-of-pace back? No. Has Jacobs been one of the most durable running backs in the NFL? Yes - he's played in 17 games in two of his last three years. Fire him up as a value bet.
