Rantanen enjoyed his best three games as a Star at the end of the first round, fittingly against his former team. I'm sure most members of the Colorado Avalanche were thinking what could have been had they not shipped Rantanen to Carolina earlier in the season.

I'm hoping Rantanen doesn't endure a comedown of emotions after exploding for 11 points in Games 5, 6, and 7 against the Avs.

You won't get enough value in backing Rantanen's point prop unless you trigger a multi-point pick. However, Rantanen had at least three shots in five of seven games thus far. There's also a decent-to-good chance either Josh Morrissey or Logan Stanley, possibly both, won't feature in Game 1.

If they can't go, Rantanen should be able to exploit the mismatch to keep Connor Hellebuyck busy.

🚨 Kyle Connor Over 3.5 shots ⭐⭐⭐

Connor might be forced to play without Mark Scheifele for a third straight game. While that's a worrying big-picture scenario, I don't think it will impact his shot production in Game 1. In fact, it might facilitate an even higher shot total. He'll burden more of the offensive load, looking to let loose on Jake Oettinger.

Connor hit this Over twice in seven games in the first round, which doesn't inject much confidence. However, he had seven shots at home in Game 7 against the St. Louis Blues and fired at least four on goal in four straight meetings with the Stars.
