Kambi to Become Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's Official Sportsbook

Big news for our best sports betting sites operating north of the border.
French gaming and betting operator La Française des Jeux (FDJ) has chosen Kambi as the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG)'s new multi-channel sportsbook provider. This will change the way OLG conducts its sports betting business.
Kambi will take over FDJ's existing contract with OLG, running up to 2032, subject to completing certain conditions for the acquisition. The transaction puts the company squarely in the North American gaming industry as a major player in the Ontario sports betting market.
To complete the contract's takeover, Kambi must make a significant initial investment. This non-recurring investment will not be included in Kambi's full-year 2025 operating expense guidance.
Kambi and OLG expect the conditions under which this process will be achieved to be met quickly. This will allow the multi-channel migration to occur in the latter half of this year.
Werner Becher, Kambi Group Chief Executive Officer, said, “The prospect of partnering with an organisation of the size and stature of OLG is an exciting one for Kambi and we are working diligently to complete the novation process with FDJ and launch later this year. Ontario has a competitive online market, but I believe a combination of OLG and Kambi will see PROLINE rightly compete with market leaders while continuing to raise the bar of its retail product.”
The Ontario sports betting app PROLINE boasts an online presence and a network of approximately 10,000 retail locations. FDJ Gaming Solutions and Sporting Solutions, both subsidiaries of FDJ, currently power the platform.
OLG seeks to more market share
The transition from FDJ to Kambi sportsbook solutions will be complex but strategically significant, potentially changing PROLINE's market position in Ontario.
Before its April 2022 regulation, OLG had a monopoly as the sole and exclusive licensed internet sports betting and gaming provider in Ontario. New regulations opened the market to competition, and an estimated 50 operators entered it, including some of the best sportsbooks in Canada. New operators enter the market frequently, with Bally Bet, a recent addition launching in December 2024.
Kambi's new partnership with OLG comes after FDJ bought Kindred Group in October 2024, an existing Kambi partner. The buyout strengthened FDJ's market position in global gaming, and the transfer of the OLG contract to Kambi reflects the strategic realignment of resources within FDJ.
For Kambi, the agreement is a key milestone in its North American expansion strategy. Ontario is one of the continent’s most competitive regulated sports betting jurisdictions and, therefore, an ideal battleground for operators seeking to capture a larger market share.
