Opening Day is here, and, naturally, the World Series odds-favorite Los Angeles Dodgers are already 2-0 before nearly every other team even plays a game. Thanks to their Tokyo Series dominance, Los Angeles enters this contest at Dodger Stadium against the Detroit Tigers with a leg up on the rest of the league, but will that matter when the action gets underway at 7 p.m. ET?

The Dodgers moneyline odds today may look a bit different than what you'll come to expect throughout the season, as they're tasked with taking on reigning AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal. Opposing him is a two-time Cy Young winner himself, Blake Snell.

Are we in for a pitcher's duel, or will there be fireworks on this ESPN broadcast?

The Dodgers are among the top-five most-bet teams on the moneyline at BetMGM heading into Opening Day, and Shohei Ohtani is getting the third-most home run tickets.

🎯 Will the Dodgers win on Opening Day?

The Dodgers enter this contest following two wins against the Chicago Cubs, and after opening as relatively long moneyline favorites at around -150, their odds have shortened to roughly -170.

For its part, FanDuel is still offering -164 on the Dodgers to win outright, which is the price I'll target. If any of our best MLB betting sites were offering a price of +150 or better on the Tigers, I'd take that. However, the best odds on the visitors to win this game are +145, and I'm not particularly interested in that price.

Therefore, I'll go with the favorites, who are set to get Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman back after the pair missed out on the Tokyo Series.

This is set to be the best pitching showdown on Opening Day, as the reigning AL Cy Young winner takes on a fellow southpaw who's won the award twice.

That's likely why, despite the Dodgers rostering a powerhouse lineup and the Tigers being no slouches themselves, this game features the lowest total on Opening Day. I wouldn't expect too much offense from either team as long as these starters are in the game, but things could get interesting once Detroit's bullpen enters the fray.
