The Indiana Fever host the Chicago Sky today at 3 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN+, Disney+) from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Caitlin Clark will look to build on last year's WNBA Rookie of the Year campaign, and our Sky vs. Fever prediction projects a high-scoring affair as Indiana aims to shorten its WNBA championship odds.

🏀 Sky vs. Fever prediction & best bet
🎯 Score prediction: Fever 90, Sky 82
For as impressive as Indiana was last season with Clark leading the charge, it was still a flawed team that seemingly needed to turn every game into a shootout. While Clark helped the Fever pace the league in field-goal percentage (45.6%) and rank No. 3 in both points per game (85) and offensive rating (106.1), the team's defense was a mess.
Even with Stephanie White taking over as head coach and several major additions, this is still an offense-first club. Clark is already the league's best passer, and now there are even more teammates to set up with DeWanna Bonner and Sophie Cunningham joining Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Lexie Hull.
That core is going to push a Sky defense that ranked in the back half of the league in points allowed per game (82.5) and defensive rating (105.6) last season. However, Chicago can rely on second-year studs Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, along with a handful of new faces, to make up for what will likely be a wonky game for its defense.
With Reese and Cardoso dominating the paint through their size and physicality, that should open things up for a trio of new guards in the Windy City. Veterans Courtney Vandersloot and Kia Nurse are two steady guards the team can lean on, plus rookie first-round pick Hailey Van Lith is coming off a flashy season at TCU.
Neither of these teams was good defensively last season, and both boast talented sophomores ready to lead offenses that should only get better. The Over is too enticing to pass on.

👀 Star prop to watch: Caitlin Clark Over 9.5 assists

Clark led the WNBA in assists per game (8.4) as a rookie last season, and her first two months of adjusting to the pros pulled that number down. She averaged 9.95 assists per game across the final three months of the regular season.
The guard should come out cooking against a Chicago defense that allowed the third-most assists per contest last year (21.7). Clark averaged 10 assists per game over four matchups against the Sky as a rookie, and she should reach double-digits in her sophomore season debut.
