NBA Draft Odds 2025: Wizards, Hornets, Jazz, Pelicans Favorites for Flagg
Whereas last year's NBA draft class was relatively underwhelming, there is once again a "can't-miss" prospect projected to go No. 1 in 2025. Duke's Cooper Flagg is the overwhelming favorite to hear his name called first at the 2025 NBA draft.

Washington Wizards (+500)
Washington selected Alex Sarr, who is among the NBA Rookie of the Year odds contenders, with the No. 2 pick in last year's draft. Despite Sarr's solid play, Washington has the worst record in the NBA, and things don't appear to be getting better anytime soon.
While the Wizards still need to win the NBA draft lottery to secure the chance to draft Flagg, the Wooden Award odds favorite would give Washington a true star with the potential to finally turn this bottom-feeder franchise around. If Flagg ends up in the capital, a $10 bet pays a $50 profit.

Charlotte Hornets (+550)
The Wizards have been so bad in the Eastern Conference it's helped cover up for how poorly Charles Lee's first season in the Queen City has gone. With the Hornets in desperate need of improvement on both ends of the court and hoping to find a versatile scorer to pair with LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, Flagg would fit in perfectly.
The freshman phenom also has the Blue Devils leading the March Madness odds, so many of the Blue Devil fans in North Carolina would likely love to see him stay in the state. Charlotte's recent rescinded trade of Mark Williams to the Los Angeles Lakers for Dalton Knecht means the Hornets are even more in need of scoring help.

Utah Jazz (+550)
The worst team in the Western Conference, the Jazz have been as bad as the Hornets this year and only slightly better than the Wizards. All three of these teams are pretty firmly in the worst shape in the league.
Flagg could be an interesting addition in Utah with Lauri Markkanen being one of the best court-stretching 7-footers in the NBA, and the last time Jazz CEO Danny Ainge drafted a Blue Devil early it turned out pretty well. If Flagg ends up in the Beehive State, a $10 bet pays a $55 profit.

New Orleans Pelicans (+550)
Things went downhill quickly for the New Orleans Pelicans this year with injuries across the board. This led to GM Bryson Graham and the Pelicans brass throwing in the towel early. New Orleans shipped out Brandon Ingram at the NBA trade deadline after realizing the team was in too big a hole to dig itself out of in a competitive Western Conference.
While the Pelicans' poor record reflects the chaotic nature of this season, the team has a decent core if it can remain healthy. Adding Flagg to a New Orleans nucleus consisting of Trey Murphy III, Herb Jones, Dejounte Murray, and Zion Williamson could translate to wins quicker than any other situation atop the oddsboard.
