The Detroit Pistons (42-33) and Oklahoma City Thunder (63-12) close out tonight's ESPN NBA double-header following Knicks vs. Cavaliers NBA player props. Tipoff in the nightcap is set for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) from Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

Our Pistons vs. Thunder prediction and player props examine the primetime interconference clash through a betting lens. Our best sports betting sites list the hosts as 12.5-point betting favorites to improve to 29-1 against the East this season.

Can a Cade Cunningham-less Detroit snap Oklahoma City's winning streak or will the Thunder continue to make history?

📊 Pistons vs. Thunder pick & odds: Who will win tonight's NBA matchup?

As of Wednesday evening, the Thunder are the 12.5-point favorites to beat the Pistons in tonight's NBA matchup at 9:30 p.m. ET from Paycom Arena in Oklahoma City. With Cunningham doubtful, I’m predicting the Thunder will beat the Pistons and cover the spread.

🔢 Pistons vs. Thunder odds & betting lines

Here are the latest Pistons vs. Thunder odds and betting lines from our best live betting sites.

The game lines for tonight's Pistons vs. Thunder game have shifted slightly in the build-up to tipoff. Oklahoma City - which opened as a 13-point betting favorite - is not -12.5 with moneyline odds of -670. The total has increased from O/U 232 to 233.5.

🎯 Pistons vs. Thunder score prediction: Thunder 126, Pistons 104

This game could be very different if Cunningham plays, but his doubtful tag and the suspensions of Isaiah Stewart, Marcus Sasser, and Ronald Holland II make it very hard to trust the Pistons here.

The Thunder are a well-oiled machine. They lead the NBA in net rating since the All-Star break (+14.1) while boasting the association’s best offense by efficiency rating (123.9) and the third-best defense (109.9).

We should give the Pistons plenty of credit, too. They rank fifth in net rating over the same period (+7.7), seventh in offensive rating (118.6), and sixth in defensive rating (110.9). However, their net rating drops to -0.8 over nine games without Cunningham.

It'll be hard for the Pistons to put up a real fight with so many depth-chart limitations. That's why I predict the Thunder will beat the Pistons by a final score of Oklahoma City 126, Detroit 104.

🏀 Best Ausar Thompson prop: Under 12.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -115 via DraftKings ($10 to win $8.70)

It may seem strange to jump at an Under for a player whose minutes and usage are destined to tick up due to the absences of players around him. But that won’t help Thompson much against this defense.

Thompson doesn’t come with a diverse bag of shots. He's averaging 5.7 field-goal attempts per game in the restricted area since the break (72.6% of his total looks). Of his other attempts, 2.1 came in the non-restricted paint.

With Thompson scoring 8.6 of his 10.6 points per contest down low, tonight’s matchup with the first-ranked team in points allowed in the paint (41.8, and leading the NBA by 3.2 points since the pause) doesn't line up well.

📊 Best Ausar Thompson prop bet odds

🏀 Best Malik Beasley prop pick: Over 15.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -120 via DraftKings ($10 to win $8.33)

So who will go off if Thompson gets stymied? The answer is just as clear when we look at the shot profile that Oklahoma City’s defense allows. While the unit is permitting the fewest field goals per game in the restricted area (11.8), it's also giving up the most from the corner (five).

Beasley proved himself as a premier corner weapon last year. He led the NBA in corner 3-pointers per game (1.3). The veteran is averaging 1.2 such 3-pointers per outing since the break while converting at a ridiculous 58.5% clip.

Beasley’s teammate Simone Fontecchio averaged 1.5 corner 3-pointers per game after last year’s All-Star break and would be a good buy too if props for him open. Expect Detroit’s best offensive producers to be guys who can cook in the corner.

📊 Best Malik Beasley prop bet odds

🏀 Best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop pick: Under 32.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -104 via FanDuel ($10 to win $9.62)

It feels wrong to fade Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in a smash spot, but the logic is sound for two reasons.

First and most importantly, we’re beating the market. SGA’s points Under will cost you -104 at FanDuel, but some of our best sports betting sites are listing it at -111. The books know the public will buy the Over, so oddsmakers are fine with hanging this number for the Under.

Secondly, the spread (13.5) points to a likely double-digit win for Oklahoma City, and the NBA MVP odds front-runner may not need to play in the fourth quarter. Gilgeous-Alexander averages only 31.3 points per game when the Thunder record a double-digit win, more than a full point less than today’s total.
