🔥 Christian Anderson Over 10.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐
What happens when your best guard goes down with an injury before the tournament? For Texas Tech, it’s meant a ton of minutes for Anderson.
Although he is averaging 30.5 minutes per game this season, he has played at least 37 in every game of the tournament. That increased workload hasn’t corresponded to a ton of added scoring. He was held to single-digit points despite his larger role against UNC Wilmington and Drake.
But that stems not from a lack of opportunity, but from not being able to make a shot. Anderson is a 43% shooter on the season, and has gone 22.2% from the floor in those outings.
We saw what a closer-to-average game Anderson could have against Arkansas. He shot 50% from the field, which led to a whopping 22 points. But despite the added minutes and bounce-back showing, his line is still set at 10.5 points.
Buy the over.
📊 Best odds: -118 via FanDuel ($10 to win $8.47)
🔥 Walter Clayton Jr. Over 19.5 points ⭐⭐⭐
Florida’s leading scorer has been an absolute menace from beyond the arc. He is shooting 38.6% from deep, converting an average of three made 3-point field goals per game on 7.8 attempts. Claton Jr. exploded for 56 total points during the first weekend, dropping exactly 23 against Norfolk State and UConn, before getting held to 13 against Maryland.
The Terps had one of the NCAA’s best 3-point defenses, an advantage not enjoyed by the Red Raiders. Since Feb. 1, Maryland ranks 21st in opponent 3-point shooting percentage (29.1%), while Texas Tech ranks 134th (33.2%).
Clayton both took a below-average share of 3-point shots and made them at a below-average rate in the Sweet 16, so bet on a bounce-back game.
📊 Best odds: -102 via FanDuel ($10 to win $9.80)
🔥 Will Richard Under 13.5 points ⭐⭐⭐
While I expect this matchup to be a high-scoring shootout, I want some action on the Under for Richard. He is shooting 48% from the field in the tournament - and 38% from deep - despite shooting 46.5% from the field and 35.6% from beyond the arc on the year.
Richard isn’t a high-volume shooter, so a dip in efficiency would be a big deal. He is averaging only 7.7 field goal attempts per game in the tournament as Florida has looked to get other players involved offensively.
The floor hasn’t fallen out for Richard’s scoring output yet, but it could on Saturday.
📊 Best odds: -120 via FanDuel ($10 to win $8.33)
