We turn our attention to the Western Conference for tonight's NHL player prop picks and anytime goal-scorer predictions, focusing on two contests that are mismatches on paper.

Featuring four players - Nathan MacKinnon, Martin Necas, Jason Robertson, and Matt Duchene - who are getting more joy around goal than a toddler watching Paw Patrol, we expect another productive night from the quartet in their matchups against the Seattle Kraken and Calgary Flames.

MacKinnon has three goals in the last five games, including two in the previous three. He isn't scoring goals at a prolific rate this season, lighting the lamp 30 times in 74 games. However, I love the matchup against a Flames team that must know the end is near. Calgary is seven points adrift of a St. Louis Blues team that no longer knows how to lose.

Yes, they have three games in hand, but the Avs at home represent a daunting task for the Flames, who are mediocre on the road. And did I mention MacKinnon douses Flames better than any fire extinguisher? He has eight goals in the previous 10 meetings against Calgary, six of which occurred at Ball Arena. Most of our best sports betting sites are offering +115 odds. A winning $10 bet would profit $11.50

Necas has been white hot since joining the Avs, thriving alongside MacKinnon and Co. He has three goals in his last four games, including two against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. While Necas hasn't played the Flames nearly as much as MacKinnon, he has three goals in four head-to-head meetings, including three in the last three. A winning $10 bet would profit $20.

It took a while for Robertson to find fifth gear, which isn't surprising considering he had ankle surgery before the season started. He's rolling now, though, scoring four goals in the last three games, including a hat trick against the Edmonton Oilers. I'm more interested in him getting an assist, which he's done in the previous two games.

The Stars played the Kraken in Seattle on Saturday, and Robertson scored a goal and had a helper. He has 12 points (seven assists) versus the Kraken in 11 previous games, including two apples in the last three.

Best Jason Robertson player prop odds vs. Kraken:

🏒 Matt Duchene Over 0.5 assists

👉 Best odds: +136 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 42.37%

Duchene is one of the Stars' primary catalysts since the team started playing their best hockey after the turn of the new year. He has 24 assists in the last 31 games and at least one helper in eight of the previous 12. Duchene also notched a helper in Seattle on Saturday. In addition, he posted at least one apple in five of the last seven games at American Airlines Center.

You can see why the Stars are the Stanley Cup odds favorite, with him and the supporting cast contributing consistently.
