Oftentimes, the winner of the Stanley Cup is the team that gets hot at the right time and stays relatively healthy. While some teams enter the Stanley Cup playoffs with a clean bill of health, others are bandaged up, hobbling into the first round.
As the playoffs are a physically charged battle of attrition, one has to wonder how the teams with a rash of injuries will fare, considering the postseason is yet to begin.
Several high-profile players are currently on the treatment table, racing against time, including Matthew Tkachuk, Leon Draisaitl, and Robert Thomas.

- Gabriel Landeskog returned from his conditioning stint with the AHL's Colorado Eagles. He is expected to play in Game 1, which would be his first NHL game since the Avs won the Cup in 2022.

- Jonathan Drouin hasn't played since April 2. He suffered a lower-body injury and is day-to-day.
- Status for Game 1: Probable
- Valeri Nichushkin didn't play in the last game of the season due to a lower-body ailment. However, his absence was more precautionary.

- Ryan Lindgren hasn't played since April 8. According to the Denver Gazette, "he started practice with the Avalanche on Wednesday but he did not finish it. After about 15 minutes of rush drills (and no contact) to get the body moving, he exited the ice surface and went to the locker room. During those 15 minutes, Lindgren, who has been battling an upper-body injury, didn't look completely comfortable handling or shooting the puck."
